You can count on years of enjoyment from every Classy Sassy Jewelry piece. The finest quality components are selected and each component is inspected before use. Those sensitive to metals can conformably wear Classy Sassy Jewelry which uses gold-filled findings, Sterling silver and Hill Tribe Silver.

Crystal
For over a century, Swarovski has supplied the world with superior crystals that are enjoyed and admired by millions worldwide. Founded in the mid 1890’s, Daniel Swarovski invented a glass cutting machine and started the world’s first hydroelectric glass cutting factory. With this state of the art machinery, Swarovski was able to produce their crystals using precise optical techniques that no other competitor can duplicate even today. With their unique crystal cutting techniques and their patented machinery, Swarovski dominates the full lead crystal market with approximately 70% of the market share.

Swarovski offers a wide rang of colors and special coatings to meet the needs of all occasions. Special coatings are bonded chemically to the outer surface of the beads for a more brilliant effect. Aurora Borealis, which gives off a rainbow-like effect, is one of the more popular coatings. Crystal Transmission, Volcano, Aurum, and Dorado are also popular special effect beads. The special effect and special coating of each bead is permanent. Austrian Swarovski crystal contains approximately 32% lead. Full lead crystal must contain above 30% lead oxide content in order to be considered full lead crystal.

Classy Sassy Jewelry uses only Swarovski crystal where crystal is used.

Gemstones
Semi-precious gemstones with unusual colors, cut or shapes are what give Classy Sassy Jewelry pieces that unique touch. I'm always searching for the newest and unusual gemstones to use to design new jewelry pieces. With years of experience I have learned which gemstone suppliers have consistently high quality and they are the ones I chose from to purchase my supplies.

Gemstones are minerals that come from the earth, and as with all earthly beings, are not without blemishes. These slight imperfections are called inclusions and are not considered defects as they add to the charm and uniqueness of each piece.

Freshwater Pearls
Freshwater pearls are available in many colors, shapes and qualities. I purchase freshwater pearls very carefully, looking for color, luster and uniformity of each pearl. Even then only the best pearls on each strand are used so that the pieces you purchase meet my high quality standards. We use freshwater pearls from China, Japan and the USA.

Gold
For that wonderful rich gold look gold-filled findings, accent beads and toggles are used. These high-quality metals ensure it is comfortable on your skin and looks beautiful for years. Gold-filled beads are made by heat and pressure bonding a thin layer of 14K gold to a brass core. The 1/20 notation refers to the ratio of karat gold to brass core by weight, which is 5%. Unlike gold plated components which have a microscopic film of gold, gold-filled has an actual layer of karat gold. The value and wear resistance is almost the same as 14K gold, however, if 14K gold is what you require, please request that at time of checkout and the price will be emailed to you.

Findings are small (yet important) metal parts such as clasps, tiny beads, crimps, ear wires and tiny rings.

Silver
When you see silver in any of my designs you will get Sterling Silver (92.5% pure silver) or Hill Tribe Silver (95% to 99% pure silver), the item description will specify which type of silver. Silver plate and pewter are not used.

Wire
Earring headpins, drops and dangles are made of either sterling silver or gold-filled wire.

Beading Wire
Beading wire is important to the durability and look of the jewelry. I use only professional beading wire which is 49 strands of stainless steel: seven bundles of seven strands each and nylon-coated for flexibility and strength. White coated beading wire is used in jewelry that includes any clear gemstones and Swarovski crystals because it is nearly invisible in the piece.
